italaw is growing
Since Professor Andrew Newcombe created it in 2004, italaw has been the open-access reference for investor-State arbitration. We are now adding new services:
Wider coverage. Besides investor-State cases, italaw now covers trade (WTO/FTA) disputes, inter-State disputes, international commercial arbitration involving States and State entities, and mixed claims. This wider coverage makes tools such as the Conflict Checker more complete.
Find any case on the Cases page by its short name, full name or case number.
Better search. Basic search has been improved for everyone; Advanced Search is currently available to approved institutions and professionals.
New research tools built on italaw's structured data: Conflict Checker, Profiles, Legal Topics, Challenge Library and, soon, the Discovery Dashboard. These tools are currently available to approved institutions and professionals.
Alerts. Approved users can follow dispute-participant profiles, legal topics, challenge enquiries and conflict checker searches, and are emailed when something new appears, for example when two or more of the people they checked appear together in a case. Case alerts are currently available to all users.
A new platform is coming. We are rebuilding italaw; it will move to a new platform at the same address, with more tools to come.
Everything that has been free on italaw remains free, thanks to our supporters. Approved institutions and professionals also have access to the advanced versions of all tools and to exclusive tools.
